This is probably the longest random post I have ever made… to, partly, compensate the lost time I was not able to blog about stuff that has been happening. Latter part of this post is most likely to be image-heavy. Teehee.
You know that time when coffee has been such a big hit and it seemed like everyone’s sipping on their own venti-sized frappuccino? Guess that era’s over now. Milk tea has surely made its big break in the Philippine market this 2011.
Around two months ago when one of my friends got back from Hong Kong, she raved about how good–and cheap–ChaTime drinks are in HKIA. Agreed. Prior to that conversation, I was able to stop by ChaTime in Glorietta/Landmark and loved roasted milk tea. Heavenly. ;p That was like the start of how fixated we become when we sip on ChaTime’s or Serenitea’s. Happy Lemon’s good, too. =) And yeah, I was that willing to spend a little less than 100 bucks for milk tea though I can actually make one.. free of any charges. Want to know how to do it?
Simple. Fill up half cup with hot water and brew tea [bag]. The darker the tea becomes, the better. Then, pour in milk. Add desired amount of washed or brown sugar. Stir and serve. LOL. That’s pretty much it. ;)
Any frequent Mercato-goer readers here? Well, regardless if you spend your Friday nights and/or Saturday and Sunday afternoon in Mercato or not, Mochiko is something you definitely should not miss out!
What’s good about Mochiko? Let’s see. It’s real mochi. Ice cream filling is so good (ice cream supplier is FIC). They have a variety of flavors to choose from (black sesame ♥, azuki, caramel, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, green tea, etc). And the owner of Mochiko is very approachable and entertaining. Surely the guy knows how to sell effectively, yes? =)
Mochiko, via City Delivery, does deliveries ONLY on weekends during Mercato hours . Minimum amount should be Php 500 (cash payment). You can click on the photo above for their website and number ;p
I have never noticed that the local supermarket already has KitKat Mint and Orange until 3 weeks ago. =)) Have tried KitKat Green Tea before when a friend who came back from Japan gave it to me. =) Why must Japan be lucky with all these good stuff?! I wish Nestle Philippines would also bring the different kinds of KitKat flavors here!
On a more exciting note… here goes the fun part. =))
August 13 and 14. Teammates and I were spotted camping at Anawangin, Zambales. That was my first EVER camping trip with tents and survival kits. The usual, I packed lightly. We have too much to bring so yeah. Bag space is only for clothes, toiletries, insect repellant lotion, flashlight, cameras, slippers, and wallet. =)) Hmm. Awesome, awesome weekend with my awesome teammates. ;)
Before heading back to Manila, team went to Capones Island. One heck of a trek! Wasn’t prepared at all. All of us walked the rocky steps wearing slippers. How about that, eh? Nevertheless, I missed trekking. =)) Secondary school prepared me for that. LOL.
Headed to the light house. Thing was, as much as I want to go with the rest of my teammates up there, heard that the stairs isn’t stable so never mind. =)) From where I was, I had a good view, too. =)
Challenging part of going back to where we were—i.e., the shore—was having to walk by myself. Ha ha. I kept humming all the time cos I was afraid some animal would pop out out of nowhere. =))
PS. Only photo dimensions are edited (hmm. watermark?) Taken with my reliable point-and-shoot camera when my instax fails me. =)).
NEXT destination, yes? ;p 가자 !!
Hangganda sa Capones! Diyan ko gusto magshoot for my pre-nup pictorial haha! Andd... Dinugo ako! I love your blog Tin! It's so youuuuu! =)
